Puka Nacua (LAR) vs. 49ers
With star WR Cooper Kupp out with a hamstring injury in Week 1, Puka essentially slid right into his vacated role. In his NFL debut, Nacua racked up 119 yards on 10 catches and a whopping 15 targets. Though it was only one game, his target share was elite. On top of the catches and yards, Puka could’ve easily had two touchdowns as well (tackled on the 2-yard line once, and later had a ball bounce off of his fingertips in the endzone). If he somehow made it through waivers in your league, pick him up immediately. Kupp won’t be returning any time soon, so you can comfortably plug Puka into your starting lineups for the next few weeks.
Note that Nacua did not practice on Thursday due to an oblique issue. He does still seem to be on track to play. He is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game.
Tyler Allgeier (ATL) vs. Packers
Last week against the Panthers, Arthur Smith and the Falcons proved that their run game is strong enough to lean on entirely en route to a win. Both Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier hit 20 PPR fantasy points. In a matchup against Green Bay in Week 2, there is no reason to expect any change to the gameplan. The Packers don’t stack the box, and finished 26th in PFF run defense grade last season. Atlanta has proven that it can sustain two productive fantasy running backs. Bijan is still the guy you want, but start Allgeier as a FLEX with confidence as well.
Joshua Kelley (LAC) vs. Titans
In new OC Kellen Moore’s first game calling the LA offense last week, the Chargers ran the ball at will. Austin Ekeler and Joshua Kelley both were given 16 carries. Ekeler turned them into 117 yards while Joshua Kelley secured 91. Ekeler has been ruled out for Sunday’s game. With Kelley sliding into the RB1 role on the Charger offense, he’s primed for a big week. Though Tennessee is a tough matchup for running backs, I think that Moore and the Chargers offense will be able to break through.
